On May 17th, renowned generative artist Brendan Dawes is dropping his ‘Satellites’ NFT Collection on Nifty Gateway. Brendan is a recognizable person in the art world. His artworks have been featured in many exhibitions across the globe such as Big Bang Data, the Aesthetica Art Prize 2021, to name a few. The ‘Satellites’ NFT Collection “celebrates human endeavour, generative forms made from the Apollo 11 mission transcripts” as Brendan Dawes said. It features 9 NFTs that will be available at Drawing and Auction. “Growing up in a seaside town on the Northwest coast of England in the early eighties meant every minute of the weekend was spent in all the video game arcades around the town centre. These were special times that undeniably began my fascination with the creative power and possibilities of computers. So for this new collection, I recalled these fond memories and imagined what the dreams of some of my favourite video game machines might look like. Using actual footage from each game, I created a generative system which transposes time, movement and pixels to create flowing, abstract data sculptures – a retrospective memory totem for each of these games which meant so much to me growing up” – the artist describes his ‘Satellites’ NFT Collection. Add the drop to your calendars not to miss it!I have as much fun making the trailers for my work as the work itself. Satellites.
